Abstract:

Motivation، 2. ideation، 3.  Programming ، 4.

Abstract:

Problem statement: According to definitions, Landscape is a phenomenon that is perceived by man. First, Human beings have physiologically communicated with the environment through senses and stimuli, which leads to strengthening mental memory and sensory perception. In the following, in Intellectual Perception, sensory experiences will meaningful and cognition is obtained. Consequently, the lack of attention to all senses reduces sensory experiences. Since there has not been a comprehensive research on the landscape perception process, the present study seeks to answer the main question, what is the process of landscape perception? In order to answer this question, it is first necessary to answer these sub-questions. Based on which senses do human sensory perception form? What are human intellectual perception and its influencing factors? Research objectives: This research aimed at increasing the sensory experiences and higher responsiveness of the landscape by identifying and considering the process of perception and its effective factors on the perception of the landscape. Research method: The present study is qualitative and in terms of purpose is the applied research. The methodology of this research was qualitative content analysis and the method of data collection was the bibliographic method. The data were collected by the bibliographic method through studying the texts, documents, and others’ reviews. The induction method was used to analyze the data and investigated the process of landscape perception in two areas of sensory perception and Intellectual perception. Conclusion: These results demonstrate that considering only five human senses in the landscape perception, regardless other 51 senses, intellectual perceptions and its factors (physical landscape, cultural factors, individual factors) can lead to an “ objective and technical” description of the landscape. Besides, it can cause the record of a superficial layer of experiences, decreasing sensory experiences, weakening the relationship between the user and the physical environment and affecting humans’ behavior. So that, failure to meet humans’ expectations of the environment may result in one resentment and even leaving it.

Abstract:

If we accept that humans take an important part of their identity from the environment and attributing itself to the environment and dominant patterns in it affects human perception, then can understand the role of traditional architecture patterns, such as the "Iranian Garden". Therefore, this research tries to use a conceptual model to investigate the relationship between the past architectural identity and human funds and defines the concept of place identity based on sensory perceptions. The research method is descriptive-analytical with an interpretive look. The results indicate that Persian garden as "place" is a general and qualitative phenomenon consisting of "sensory experience" that in the first step, with visual and spatial visions, all sensory data are regulated and then reveals its own character in the same direction, through the creation of a mental structure and the association of existential meanings for memory in the context of time. Thus, the sense of "sameness" with the qualitative aspect of the Persian garden is a degree of authentication of place.

Abstract:

Problem statement: Daylight is inherently dynamic and variable, which, depending on the architectural design characteristics of light-transmitting surfaces, especially their geometry, can create different patterns of light and shadow within the interior space. This, in turn, can affect the senses and sensory perceptions of residents, manifesting through their emotional responses and providing a distinctive and meaningful spatial experience. However, it appears that contemporary residential buildings do not provide an optimal level of perceptual effects of daylight in interior spaces for their residents. This may be due to architects’ lack of systematic, clear, and precise awareness of the perceptual effects of daylight.Research objective: This study aims to explain the relationship between geometric patterns of daylight distribution and the sensory perceptions of residents, as well as to identify the most reliable numerical indices for image processing to predict the relationship between these two aspects within the context of residential buildings.Research method: This study has been conducted using a survey research method and an image processing method in a simulated environment. Conclusion: The survey findings indicate that changes in the geometric patterns of daylight distribution significantly alter the average sensory perception assessment indices. This highlights the importance for architects to consider and manipulate the geometry of light-transmitting surfaces to create desirable environmental sensations. Additionally, the correlation findings between the survey research and the studied image processing indices suggest that the Michelson, mean-RMS, Fractal D, GIF file size, and RAW-PRIM8 indices are the most reliable for predicting pleasantness. The TIFF-SOBEL, JPEG-PERIM8, Michelson, JPEG file size, and PNG file size indices are the most reliable for predicting attractiveness. The TIFF-SOBEL, Mean mSC, JPEG-PERIM8, JPEG file size, and JPEG-PERIM4 indices are the most reliable for predicting excitement. The RAW-PRIM4, RAW-PRIM8, Michelson, Fractal D, and CANNY 2014-RAW indices are the most reliable for predicting spatial calmness.

Abstract:

Selection of appropriate method and developing models and writing new rules for data analysis in an architectural project in order to achieve the design idea are some of the factors that influence the course of the design process. If the design is based on philosophical theories and phenomenological approach, perceptions and senses and at the same time, deals with the issue of conversion of phenomenon to matter, there will be a need for a process that is designed, new and responsive to the issues of the design. In this regard, the cognition and selection of method and selected techniques is done according to the new models, but on the basis of the documentation and basic information related to the principal theories. The design process will be based on several main parts and specific subgroups. The purpose of this study is to evaluate two main parts of the process and design approach. These two parts and the role of each in the design process with a phenomenology approach has been analyzed and reviewed. And finally, the operation of one of the strategic techniques in the design process with a phenomenology view called "mapping technique" is considered. As a result of this study, a model for the design process with phenomenology approach has been presented, the main basis of which is dealing directly with phenomena.

Abstract:

Background and aim: Sensory processing in humans involves reception of a physical stimulus, transduction of the stimulus into a neural impulse, and perception, or, the conscious experience of sensation. These sensory disorders can negatively affect development and functional abilities in behavioral, emotional, motoric, and cognitive domains. The present study was designed to investigate the prevalence of parent's perceptions of sensory processing disorders among 5 to 11 year-old children in Tehran, Iran. Materials and methods: The current study was a descriptive and cross sectional study performed on 5 to 11 year-old children. Data collection instruments were a demographic and a sensory profile questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Mann Whitney Welch, and ANOVA tests. Results: In the present study, 2191 cases were evaluated in terms of sensory processing factors. According to the findings, morbidity from sensory processing disorder in boys is higher than that in girls. Also, the most common disorder was observed in sensory sensitivity factor and the lowest was related to fine movement and perception. The results of Mann Whitney showed that the medians of sensory sensitivity, emotional reaction, and oral sensory sensitive, inattention and destructibility, sensory sensitivity, and fine movements/perception were significantly different between males and females (P < 0. 001). In addition, findings of the present research showed that there exists significant relationships between age and all nine factors except for emotional response (P <0. 001). Conclusion: Due to the impact of the disorder on the children's quality of life and their adverse effects on the children's personal and social life, screening school-aged children and making attempts to treat it is necessary.

Abstract:

Introduction: The most commonly-used method of teaching medicinal plants courses among the faculty of Traditional Medicine is a lecture-based slideshow, but we hypothesize that herb knowledge could be reinforced by using a sensory approach in which students have the opportunity to interact with these plants using their five senses. The aim of this study was to obtain students’ knowledge about the morphological characteristics of current medicinal plants. The students learned about the plants using all senses before, immediately after, and 40 days after intervention. We also assessed the satisfaction rate of students as a result of this educational intervention. Methods: As a pre-test, 27 students who had attended medicinal herb classes answered a questionnaire with open-ended questions about the morphological characteristics of herbs. Immediately after the educational intervention, for their post-test, students filled a questionnaire comprised of the same questions on the pre-test. The mean scores of students in pre-test (A) and post-test (B) were calculated. Forty days after the aforementioned session, students answered a different questionnaire covering the previously discussed morphological characteristics of herbs. The mean scores of participants in this exam were C. A and B, A and C as well as B and C were compared and analyzed by SPSS v.17 (p≤0.001). This workshop was evaluated by a questionnaire. Results: There was a significant difference between A and B, B and C as well as A and C (P-value= 0.001). The rate of student satisfaction on five items of the questionnaire was higher than 90%.Conclusion: Exclusive textbook-based learning of medicinal plants might not be sufficient to understand them, and it seems useful for the faculties to integrate physical sensory experiences into herbal educational methods.

Abstract:

Error occurs frequently in everyone's sensory perceptions, and decoding the error quality and origin could influence many issues in epistemology. Reading the works Allameh Tabatabaei and Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi, one finds out that both philosophers believe that sensory perception is the effect of sensible on the sensory organ. In Khajeh and Allama's words, error in sensation is impossible. The origin of sensory perceptions errors has to be traced back to the correspondence of sensible with external reality which is itself a task fulfilled by human reason, though according to Khajeh and Allameh, sensory perception is among the conditions of rational judgment. Sensory perceptions, Allameh argues, have to be traced back to presential knowledge and this is an indication of their essential infallibility. However there is no sign of this view in Khajeh's works.

Abstract:

Phenomenology became basis for paying attention to sensory perceptions and human dimensions of space by promoting the qualitative originality of space and allowing the emergence of phenomena. Our aim is to analyze the pattern of the Iranian historical house from this view and phenomenology. also, the present study tries to explain the role of sensory perceptions in the realization and realization of the quality of living in the mentioned spaces. In order to achieve this, first the philosophical framework of phenomenology and theorists of this school were explained in detail, which in the qualitative model with the model summarized from the framework. Phenomenological philosophy tries to recognize and explain the components and effective factors in realizing the quality of habitation and perceptions. The results of quantitative and descriptive statistics shows the audience in such historical houses is always in a noticeable fluidity in space. Most of the main shifts in such spaces are accompanied by the failure of the horizontal axis and movement in the oblique and vertical axes. It causes the spatial fluidity of the relationship between subject and object, and also in line with this spatial fluidity, the audience's one-sensory perception of space becomes a multi-sensory perception, results show that the audience experiences a full and deep perceptual perception in such spaces. All these factors create a multidimensional and complete presence in space and provide a dialogue between the subject and the object

Abstract:

Introduction and purpose of the research: Rapid changes of cities occur without regarding the environmental and cultural status and structures that interrupt integrated memories of city dwellers besides the ignorance of physical qualities. Urban spaces are the home to communal life and social conversation or discourse in a context with components responding to the place qualities. This research is seeking to discover the quality of creating collective memory through city dwellers encounter with Tajrish square. research method: This essay has been chosen according to the qualitative, analytical and interpretive research approaches along with phenomenological ground of embodied sensory perceptions and from Merleau-Ponty’ s point of view, and also open, axial and selective coding methods. In the current study, in-depth interviews and responses given from interviewees have been used in order to the exploration of memorable components of a place through embodied perceptions. Findings: The embodied sensory perception, which puts special importance on the perception of a place among conscious experiences and existential status of the human being in the world, can enhance lived experience of being in the world through the sensory perceptions and its transformation within conceptual processes, and eventually, end up with the memorable semantic experience of Tajrish square in a time-based process. The perusal that seeks to qualitative perception resulted from the human existence in space, sensory and embodied perceptions, human’ s experience in space, imaginations and fantasies, preconceptions and pre-assumptions, and the creation of a semantic environment with the help of human’ s conceptual information. Conclusion: The results show that the memorability of Tajrish square follows the interaction between the plaza and the conceptual, physical and socio-cultural indications of city dwellers. This extends by pre-reflective perceptions and so embodied consciousness occurs. Tajrish as a memorable urban plaza shows off its ability for the representation and readability of physical and identity attributes and functional roles and provides the possibility of rhetoric and memorability of a space.
